HDXPRT Development Community FAQ
Principled Technologies (PT), a leading provider of independent technology marketing and assessment services, announced the formation of the HDXPRT Development Community in October 2010. This group helps shape future versions of HDXPRT, a benchmark for evaluating a PC’s capabilities using real-world media scenarios and common consumer applications. HDXPRT was originally created by Intel Corporation. PT published and released the latest version, HDXPRT 2011, in May 2011. Members of the HDXPRT Development Community significantly influenced the development of HDXPRT 2011 by providing feedback on the initial design specifications and participating in Beta testing.
What is HDXPRT?
HDXPRT, the High Definition experience and Performance Ratings Test, is a consumer-oriented benchmark that evaluates a PC’s capabilities using real-world media usages and common consumer applications. HDXPRT is easy to use and delivers meaningful results that consumers can easily understand. Input and contributions from the HDXPRT Development Community will help define future releases of the benchmark.
What is the HDXPRT Development Community?
The HDXPRT Development Community is a forum through which interested parties can contribute to the ongoing evolution of HDXPRT. Community members play a vital role in ensuring that HDXPRT incorporates the latest in the field of user-experience benchmarking and meets the needs and interests of a range of individuals and organizations.
We encourage anyone interested in shaping the future of user-experience benchmarking to participate. Annual membership fees are very low to encourage the broadest possible audience to participate.
How do HDXPRT Community Development members contribute to the development?
Community Members contribute to the benchmark development in a number of ways. Members’ comments, suggestions, and concerns inform the benchmark design. Members also conduct Beta testing of new versions of the benchmark and can review the source code of final workloads. We hope and expect the participation from the Community to increase with time.
